On May 31, 2012, Rising Tide Capital launched The Start Something Challenge: a challenge to New Jersey’s entrepreneurs to actualize their business initiatives. This challenge will spur local innovation in an effort to shape a healthy ecosystem of entrepreneurship, especially in undeserved, urban communities. Participants will build new relationships, generate money to help grow their business, receive valuable feedback, and work towards a chance to win a business grant!

The Start Something Challenge will take place over four exciting events in three Northern New Jersey cities:

Celebrate the start of Global Entrepreneurship Week with the Semi-Finals and Finals of the Start Something Challenge. Thirty Start Something Semi-finalists will pitch head-to-head for an opportunity to become one of ten finalists. Ten finalists will pitch for a chance to win $25,000 in prizes. Learn about local small business resources at our resource fair,  and be inspired by our feature speaker, Chris Rabb!

There will be three public events in Jersey City to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week: 

• Global Culinary Cafe

The Culinary Café will be open for lunch at the Culinary Conference Center. Global cuisine will be served in honor of the 2012 Global Entrepreneurship Week. Cost: $9 per person for buffet lunch.If you are a small business owner affected by Hurricane Sandy, come out and share your story. The cost of your lunch will be free.

• Lunch & Learn: Simple Time Management

Multitasking at its best and most enjoyable! Join the Center for Business & Industry for a delicious meal, get to know other area business people, and learn about innovations that are--and will be--impacting today's workplaces.
